Ray-Ban's Latest Reverse Collection Wows the Fashion World

Just before summer, Ray-Ban, unquestionably the most recognised brand in eyeglasses, unveiled its latest technological achievement, a first-of-its-kind ‘Ray-Ban Reverse’ line of eyewear that shifts from regular convex to concave lenses without impairing optical clarity.

Reverse Aviator, Wayfarer, Caravan, and Boyfriend are the first four unisex sunglass models in the Ray-Ban’s Reverse collection

The main innovation is the lens shape, which changes from ordinary convex to concave without affecting optical precision.

Ray-Ban's Reverse Aviator, Wayfarer, Caravan, and Boyfriend sunglasses feature an ergonomic universal frame that fits and complements every face shape. The collection was designed with the environment in mind, employing bio-based nylon1 lenses with a 41% carbon content, bio-based acetate frames with a 67% carbon content, and 100% recycled packaging, card, and cleansing cloth.

"Our Ray-Ban Reverse collection is a true revolution in the eyewear industry. The concave aesthetic is enabled by a new proprietary technology which applies big data analysis to the lens design. We always raise the bar by reinventing what eye care and eyewear can do for consumers," Federico Buffa, R&D Product Style Licensing Director.

In addition, Chief Marketing Officer of Essilor Luxottica, Francesco Liut, said: "As the most beloved eyewear brand, we continue to leverage the power of our iconicity while bringing innovation and technology to our most classic styles."

The Collection Debuts with Vittoria Ceretti as the Campaign's Face

Ray-Ban continues to break new ground decade after decade. Ray-Ban presents the 'Reverse' collection, which contains four unisex eyewear designs with an unimaginable new lens that has been completely reversed.

The marketing video features iconic supermodel Vittoria Ceretti as the campaign's face, and it takes viewers through a fast-paced, high-fashion video in which the model wears Reverse eyeglasses. Angles and emphasis are used to bring the concept of Reverse to life while keeping the focus on the eyewear.

According to the company, Ray-Ban is at the forefront of eyewear innovation, pushing the category's boundaries forward.

The debut of the new lenses is the following big statement for a firm that has cemented its icon status in pop culture while still looking for ways to evolve its heritage.
